In his current role, Dr Popenici is Academic Lead Quality Initiatives, Education Strategy at Charles Darwin University. His research is focused on the impact of AI in teaching and learning, imagination and creativity in education and education futures and more. Dr Popenici is well regarded and is a member of various boards and international organisations, and is the recipient of prestigious awards. This includes the Order “Merit of Education” as Knight from the President of Romania.
