conVerge12continues to create a space which engages the VET community (and beyond) in dialoguethat encourages everyone to create the advantage that e-learning provides. conVerge12 showcases those who have taken the initiative: sharing knowledge about new tools and technologies, stimulating new ideas, promoting effective partnerships and passions that are focussed on effective e-learning initiatives, and integrating theory and practice in the demonstration of effective and innovative strategies, delivery and programs.

A focus on the practical and applied ways of enhancing e-learning innovation and success through stimulating workshop activities will ensure participants embark on spirited professional conversations and interactions beyond the conference. The ongoing development of a skilled workforce is critical in the current environment so that affirming good practice and finding new ways of working are fundamental to the aims of the conference. conVerge12 workshop themes are:

Partnering for Business Success

  • E-learning strategies that increase ROI
  • Developing sustainable partnerships
  • Business, community and/or targeted engagement with e-learning
  • Research and findings into sustainable e-learning business practices

Collaborative Approaches

  • Applicaiton of social networking: people, collaborate and tools
  • Sharing innovative Web 2.0 practice
  • Accessing e-learning (mobile)

New Applications and Resources

  • What's New!
  • NBN enhanced delivery
  • Research and findings into sustainable e-learning practices

Access, Equity and Diversity in e-learning

  • Technology and working with langugage, literacy, educationally disadvantaged learners, youth and learners with disabilities
  • E-learning and Indigenous community
  • Apprentices, trades and technology

Advanced Practices

  • Advanced practices in all of the above categories

We want to create a program with something for everyone: teachers, tutors, industry partners, researchers, and others who may want to collaborate with us.

conVerge12 will showcase state and federally funded Victorian e-learning initiatives and projects, at both the advanced and start-up levels with a chance to disseminate these learning’s. We also encourage other e-learning initiatives and projects to showcase their ideas and achievements. Each theme might be developed with reference to research, theory, policy, or practice.

The concurrent sessions will be 50 minutes.  These sessions are intended for brief reports, showcasing new resources and should include participatory activities.

Copyright of individual workshops presented at the conVerge12 conference remain copyright of the respective author/s and/or project funding bodies.conVerge12 reserves the right to record presentations and to publish papers, photographs and recordings. conVerge12 may distribute information about these workshops for teaching and research purposes in journals or on the website.

Workshop presenters will be required to register for the conference.

This year one presenter per workshop will be entitled to register at a discounted price.

Registration fees:

  • Presenter: $270 (ex GST)
  • Delegate or additional presenter(s): $350 (ex GST)

Presenters are required to submit proposals by Friday 27 July, 2012Submit your Expression of Interest to present at conVerge12.
